Thanks, and a few questions regarding SC game theory


For the SC to take this case, wasn’t the decision largely (or completely, even) baked in the cake because of Texas?

Because of Texas, is it (one of) Roberts’ jobs to ensure the SC follow its own precedent and not seem dysfunctional? If so, and his vote ensures precedent is maintained, does that give cover to others to dissent if they so choose? IOW, are the SC hole cards revealed at once, or is there some vote massaging and horse trading going on ahead of the flip?
